OUR TEAM
Jed Simon (Founder/CEO)
Jed began his career in the Investment Banking New Media Group at Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York providing IPO, debt finance, and merger and acquisitions advisory services prior to joining DreamWorks SKG in 1996. During his ten year career at DreamWorks, Jed managed aspects of its finance, distribution, marketing, and new media businesses, and was a senior executive at DreamWorks Records before assisting in the sale of the company to Universal Music Group. His last position with DreamWorks was Vice President of International Distribution and Marketing for DreamWorks Pictures, based in London. Jed graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University and is on the Board of Directors for Brown University Sports Foundation and is active with the Los Angeles County Museum of Contemporary Art and Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Los Angeles.
Mennen Coleman (Chief Credit Officer)
Mennen began her career in the CIT training program where she spent rotations in the Client Credit, New Business Underwriting, Customer Credit, Audit, and Collateral Monitoring departments. Mennen later was promoted to Account Executive and Client Service Officer, managing a portfolio with approximately $500mil in annual volume. Mennen joined Celtic Capital, a Los Angeles-based Asset-Based Lending institution, working as the Vice President of Credit managing high risk clients. At FastPay, Mennen has been implementing improved policies and procedures for more systematic risk analysis and operational controls. Mennen earned a BA in Business from California State University, Long Beach.
Tim Gooch (Controller)
Tim leads the finance and accounting operations at FastPay, working closely with our operations, underwriting, business development and technology teams. Prior to joining FastPay, Tim worked at Buzzmedia, a leading web publisher, as Director of Finance/Controller where he was responsible for the financial and accounting operations of the company. Prior to that, he worked as Director of Finance at Movielink. Tim began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he provided financial advisory and accounting assurance services to companies in the technology and entertainment sectors. Tim holds a bachelor’s in accounting and finance from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.
Mark Baran (Senior Director of Product)
Mark is responsible for product management of new technologies and lending products. As product manager, Mark plans systems to automate the sales funnel, facilitate the sales process, and generally manage portfolio risk, both programmatically and from a process perspective. He also leads FastPay’s metrics and analytic efforts. Mark is a 2010 graduate of Harvard University, Cum Laude, where he majored in an interdisciplinary curriculum combining Economics and Philosophy.
TJ Hennessy (Director of Business Development)
TJ is responsible for identifying, implementing, and developing new business opportunities. TJ also leads the company’s strategic partnerships. Prior to FastPay, TJ worked at one of Los Angeles’ 2011 Fastest Growing Companies, BetterWorks, where he developed the original sales infrastructure, quickly became the company’s top salesman, and was promoted to the Head of New Markets. TJ graduated from the University of Southern California, Magna Cum Laude, where he earned a B.S. Degree in Business Administration.
Jake Skinner (Director of Strategic Planning)
Jake is responsible for managing our product development strategy in tandem with our technology, credit, and business development teams. Jake began his career in New York City working at Goldman Sachs in the Corporate Treasury department, where he focused on relationship lending in the investment banking division, and in liquidity risk management. After a brief stint at a small venture capital firm in San Francisco, he decided to come join us at FastPay. Originally from Boise, ID, Jake holds a Bachelor’s in Politics and International Relations from Princeton University and was a member of the men’s golf team.
Danielle Baldaro (Director of Client Services)
As Director of Client Services, Danielle is responsible for maintaining FastPay’s commitment to providing first class service and support to all of our clients. She is also responsible for managing our portfolio risk in tandem with the day to day funding needs of our clients. Prior to joining FastPay as an Account Executive, Danielle held management positions at Continental Business Credit and Transaction Funding. A native of Southern California, Danielle holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and Management from Cal State University, Los Angeles where she graduated Cum Laude.
